Little Blossom Nursery School is a family run business born out of the passion and experience of it’s owners. With a background in childcare, education and SEND the owner saw a need for high quality, flexible childcare at affordable prices.
Little Blossom Nursery School believe familiar staff offer the children the ability to create strong bonds through a comprehensive Key Person system.
Active Learning is central to our curriculum. Children are encouraged to participate, analyse and evaluate all aspects of nursery life. Children are at the centre of our setting and their views, likes and dislikes are considered when planning activities and learning opportunities.
Little Blossom Nursery offers a welcoming, friendly environment for children aged 9 months to 5 years. In line with the Little Blossom ethos, the team at Leavesden provides flexible, affordable childcare accessible for all. Children are encouraged to play and develop using a range of activities derived from their interests and next steps.
Our cosy Seeds Baby Room currently holds 12 children aged 9 months to 2 years. This room allows children to settle into our nursery routine with a lower staff to adult ratio. The children have the benefit of developing alongside their peers while also creating great bonds with their key person. Our Seeds Room offers lots of sensory experiences to encourage choices and promote speech.
Our larger nursery room holds 26 children aged from 2 years to 5 years. This room offers the structure of a nursery classroom whilst still allowing children to develop through play and express individual choices. As the children near school age, this room offers support and structure for the transition to school.
Child-led play
This includes Child Led Play where children freely choose from a range of indoor and outdoor activities and continuous provision to ensure the children develop the skills to independently play and make choices.
Small Group Time
The children enjoy small group time in which focused activities are planned by a practitioner to explore the children’s next steps. This focused time allows the children to work in smaller groups and develop the skills identified by the team.
Meal Times
Our Nursery offers rolling morning and afternoon snack, where children choose from a range of healthy snack options. This includes a daily choice of fruits and vegetables, and milk and water. Children are also encouraged to independently prepare their own snack, including cutting their fruit and pouring their chosen drink. After their snack, children are encouraged to wash their own bowls and return to play.
Lunch time is a sociable time at Little Blossom Nursery allowing children the time to enjoy sharing their thoughts on the morning activities and refuelling for the afternoon ahead.
Fresh drinking water is available all day.
Our Nursery has fantastic links to the local community, including local churches and schools.
Our Watford Nursery also offers a great location for commuters, being situated close to the M1 motorway and within a short walk to Watford Junction train station.
