We offer a Flexible, Affordable, Bespoke service for all your childcare needs.

We endeavour to treat each child as an individual and tailor the care to their specific likes and needs, allowing them to grow into confident learners ready for the next stage in their journey.

Our Approach

Little Blossom has two small nursery schools, favouring familiar staff and a child centred curriculum over profit. The children are at the heart of everything we do. From their initial visit to graduation to primary school Little Blossom Staff aim to support and nurture your children as they would their own. Our curriculum is based around the children’s interests and abilities, constantly changing and adapting to best fit each child’s development.

We learn through Play. with exciting planned and spontaneous activities developed to allow the children to explore, learn and flourish. The activities are designed to incorporate all thee areas of learning and also to excite and engage the children.

Whether we are hunting for mini beasts, building a dinosaur park with the mega blocks or making marks in jelly we are constantly talking, listening and finding ways to extend the children’s learning.

Our Techniques

  • Staff are encourage to always be on the same level as the children. To see the world from their view point and to help the children to communicate with someone who is not towering above them
  • Staff are encourage to use calm gentle voices when talking to the children especially when dealing with challenges. To give the children the respect, space and time to express themselves.
  • Adult Raised voices are for excitement and staff are aware that voices should only be raising when animated about a certain activity. We love screams of joy, loud laughter and squeals of excitement. We dislike bellowing instructions and over powering adult voices.
  • Little Blossom Nursery Watford staff are encouraged to model behaviour for the children to copy. For example children are much more likely to crawl across the room like a tiger if they are imitating their key person rather than being instructed to do so.
  • Staff at Little Blossom Nursery Watford are trained to use techniques such as echoing and repetition to consolidate learning. making sure that each skill is successfully mastered.

Outdoor Play

We utilise our outdoor play space every day. Some children learn better in an outdoor environment therefore we ensure to offer both indoor and outdoor learning activities. As well as designated outdoor free play.

We ensure we use the space we have effectively and provide exciting outdoor learning activities. We also visit local parks and we can we often seen out and about on natural walks, bear hunts and exploring the local area.

Our Community

Little Blossom Nursery School Watford is a family run business and we view everyone as a member of the Little Blossom Nursey Family. This includes the children, the staff, The families and the wider community.

The Staff and children’s views are constantly being taking into account and the day plan, learning opportunities and curriculum is always evolving to take into account the children’s and staff’s feedback.

Our families are so important to consolidate the children’s learning and help with each stage of development. Children learn and develop constantly so their journey does not stop when the nursery day ends. We work in partnership with the families to make sure that the children have the best opportunity to explore, learn and Flourish.

  • WOW moments are sent home so children are rewarded for doing a really good job.
  • Our resident Barney Blossom is sent home weekly for an adventure with the Star of the Week.
  • Parents and carers are often invited into the nursery for interactive sessions
  • Weekly tapestry updates provide parents with an in sight into nursery life.
  • Parents and carers are encouraged to share special moments from home.

We view the wider community as part of our extended family. We ensure the children also feel part of the community with regular community visits as well as weekly play and stay sessions held in the community room which our children are often accompanied to by staff.
